Administrative Policies – Group Internet Based Programs

Overview

These Administrative Policies apply to DECODED® Group Internet Based continuing professional education programs. These policies are intended to explain how DECODED® handles required administrative matters related to participation, refunds, cancellations, complaints, course maintenance, and record retention.

Record Retention Policy

DECODED® retains the documentation required for its Group Internet Based programs for a minimum of five (5) years. This documentation includes:

  • Records of participation
  • Dates and locations of program offerings
  • Author/instructor, author/developer, and reviewer names and credentials
  • For any CPA or tax attorney serving as an author/instructor, author/developer, or reviewer for accounting, auditing, or tax programs, the state of licensure, license number, and license status
  • For any enrolled agent serving in such capacity for tax programs, the enrolled agent number
  • Number of CPE credits earned by participants
  • Results of program evaluations
  • Program descriptive materials, including course announcement and promotional information
  • Documentation serving as evidence of each individual participant’s response to attendance monitoring mechanisms

Refund Policy

DECODED® offers both free and paid Group Internet Based programs.

For paid live Group Internet Based programs, cancellations made at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the scheduled program are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made three (3) to six (6) calendar days prior to the scheduled program may incur a 30% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within forty-eight (48) hours of the scheduled program may incur a 50% cancellation fee.

For free Group Internet Based programs, no refund applies.

Program Cancellation Policy

If DECODED® cancels a Group Internet Based program, registered participants will be notified by email no later than twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled program start time, unless an emergency or other unforeseen circumstance requires shorter notice.

When applicable, DECODED® will provide additional information regarding rescheduling options or refunds for paid registrations.

Complaint Resolution Policy

DECODED® is committed to addressing participant concerns in a timely and professional manner. Participants who wish to report a complaint or concern regarding a Group Internet Based program should contact:

Complaints will be reviewed by the appropriate DECODED® representative, and DECODED® will make a reasonable effort to respond in a timely manner.

Course Update Policy

DECODED® includes the most recent publication, revision, or review date within the documentation for each Group Internet Based program.

Courses are revised as soon as feasible following changes to relevant codes, laws, rulings, decisions, interpretations, or other authoritative guidance. Courses in subject areas that undergo frequent change are reviewed by a subject matter expert at least once each year. Other courses are reviewed at least once every two (2) years.
